VW Grand California: Field measure 91UD – Energy management and fuse holder

1 min read

Volkswagen has issued a service measure with an active customer approach for the Crafter Grand California (process no. 91UD, release date 22.01.2026). Anyone driving a Grand California from a certain production period should contact their workshop about this.

What is it about? #

On affected vehicles, it can happen that the starter battery is not charged when charging with shore power and the supply batteries are also not charged when the engine is running. This is a classic case where you are left with an empty battery in the morning, even though the vehicle has been connected to the mains all night.

What is being done? #

The measure comprises one or two criteria, depending on the vehicle:

Criterion 01 – Adapt energy management: The control unit for special functions (diagnostic address 003D) is relearned via ODIS. The energy architecture in the vehicle is checked and adjusted accordingly if there is a deviation between the actual and target status. This takes around 30 minutes.

Criterion 02 – Replace fuse holder: In some vehicles, the potential distributor (fuse holder SH, part number 7C0 937 517 AK) is also replaced. If both criteria are required, you can expect to spend up to 90 minutes in the workshop.

Does the measure apply to my vehicle? #

Volkswagen will bear the costs and the field measure will run until 30.06.2031. Customers of affected vehicles will be contacted by the workshop by telephone. Anyone who is unsure whether their Grand California (facelift model) is affected can simply ask us or visit the workshop directly.
