Unfortunately, many Grand California have problems with the step, so far the Volkswagen partner of trust could not do much. Fortunately, there is now a new step from Thule.
Error pattern #
The step does not extend or retracts or does so only sporadically. A reset of the camper unit does not bring any improvement.
Measure #
The step is replaced and a new software version (0408) is installed on the control unit. Unfortunately, the update cannot be applied to an old stage and the replacement is mandatory if the error is present.
Modification ex works #
All Grand California with production date from KW08/22 already have the new software and step installed from the factory.
