The most important change for motorhome drivers is the increase to 4.25 tons, which can now be driven with a normal category B driving license. However, there is currently still a “but” here, as the regulation only applies to vehicles with alternative drive systems such as electric cars.
However, the member states are in control here and can extend this regulation to all drive systems. For example, there is a possibility that a simple driving test will have to be carried out in order to be allowed to drive a 4.25-ton vehicle with a conventional drive. Similar to the current B96 driving license.
The driving license amendment is to apply from 2028!
