Another item on the list from the category “Why doesn’t Volkswagen manage to write this in the operating instructions? Admittedly, not even the Volkswagen service partners know what it means when the refrigerator suddenly flashes and stops cooling.
It gets even more frustrating when you try to find the refrigerator model on the manufacturer’s (Webasto Marina) website. Again, no results. Neither the model nor information on the error codes can be found.
Fortunately, after a few hours of research, we were able to gather some information about the possible errors.
Error codes #
If the refrigerator has a fault, this is indicated by error codes in addition to the cooling function not working. These are indicated by flashing codes on the LEDs on the temperature setting.
An error always begins with 5 rapid flashes of the LEDs. The error code is then displayed by a long flash. The refrigerator has 7 error codes:
- Error 1 – LED flashes 1x // Battery error, the power supply to the refrigerator is insufficient. This is by far the most common error.
- Error 2 – LED flashes 2x // Fan error
- Error 3 – LED flashes 3x // Compressor error
- Error 4 – LED flashes 4x // Compressor speed error
- Error 5 – LED flashes 5x // ECU overheats (control unit), this can happen at extremely high outside temperatures.
- Error 6 – LED flashes 6x // NTC error (temperature sensor error)
- Error 7 – LED flashes 7x // Communication error control unit
