Loose seat trim on the VW Grand California – Official VW measure available

< 1 min read

Many Grand California drivers are familiar with the problem: the plastic trim on the driver’s seat is coming loose and is visibly protruding. VW has now officially confirmed precisely this issue (Technical Product Information TPI 2076232/1) and provides a concrete solution.

According to the VW measure, the following steps are planned:

– The swivel front seat must be completely removed.

– Replace the seat pan with a new, optimized version (part number 2N0 881 105 DP left or 2N0 881 106 DP right).

– Fasten the new seat cowling with a special expanding rivet (part number N 038 501 2) to permanently prevent it from sticking out.

– Reinstallation of the seat according to factory specifications.

VW thus confirms that the cause of the loose trim is too large a gap between the seat pan and the trim. The new fastening solves the problem permanently.

If you are affected, it is best to contact your garage directly and refer to TPI number 2076232/1.
