It’s that time again, the next test is coming up! 🥳
What’s it about this time?
💦💦💦💦 Water… 💦💦💦
🤔 How again?! 😳
Yes! 😬 But this time it’s more about dirty water… gray water to be precise!
And if you’re wondering what there is to test, just put it down the drain and that’s it! Yes, that may work in Germany, but there are also countries where there is no sewage system like in Germany…
As you know, we prefer to travel in Sweden 🇸🇪❤️
And in Sweden you often have to search for a long time to find a ground inlet for gray water – or a way to get rid of gray water at all – and when you do find something, it’s usually at campsites – many of which are only open in summer – and costs money… somehow not quite satisfactory…
And since we are not fans of ‘just letting the gray water run’, we looked for a way to make ourselves independent with our gray water problem.
In the process, we became aware of Carawater. Carawater can turn gray water back into industrial water… cool, sounds exactly like our solution! 😎
How does the mini waterworks for on the go work?
The gray water is filtered through a reverse osmosis, various membranes and filters, as well as UV light to produce process water and then fed back into the fresh water tank.
In this way, a fresh water tank filling can be reused up to ten times until the system needs to be flushed, for us the epitome of self-sufficiency! 🥹
But we wouldn’t be us if we just accepted it and installed it. So we quickly set up the system in our hall and tested it.
Point one: yes, at first glance it works, the smelly, cloudy grey water comes out as clear, odorless water…
Point two will be revealed by the laboratory in a few days: what can our freshly filtered grey water do and can we continue to use it without hesitation?
In the following video we give you a brief introduction to the setup:
And since we’re testing the water, it’s a wash-up and we send another sample to the lab: the gray water.
Opinions differ here: some say ‘oh, that little bit of toothbrush water’, others say ‘under no circumstances should it run down the drain’.
How harmful is gray water really?
Info to follow… 😊
