And the groundhog says hello every day. Since KW08/22 a new step is installed in the Grand California, this should finally solve the problem of not extending. We also got this great step full of anticipation in January and what can we say, it didn’t work at all after the swap.
KFG software update should fix problem now
At the end of May, the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles development department finally released new KFG software. This should now finally fix the step problems.
The new software has the version number 0503.
We installed this software on our Grand California and since then the step finally works without problems.
Technical cause
Volkswagen is now also giving a reason for the malfunction for the first time, according to the measures paper:
The current is too high in the breakaway torque or due to increased contamination.
With the update, the current flow is now apparently better regulated.
