Another item on the list from the category why doesn’t Volkswagen manage to write that in the user manual. Admittedly, not even the Volkswagen service partners know what it means when the refrigerator suddenly blinks and no longer cools.
It gets even more frustrating when trying to find the refrigerator model on the manufacturer’s (Webasto Marina) website. Here, too, there is a lack of information. Neither the model, let alone information about the error codes can be found.
Fortunately, after a few hours of research, we were able to gather some information about the possible errors.
Error codes
If the refrigerator has a fault, this will be indicated by error codes in addition to the absence of the cooling function. These are indicated by means of blink codes through the LEDs on the temperature setting.
An error always starts with 5 times fast flashing of the LEDs. Subsequently, the error code is displayed by long flashing. The refrigerator has 7 error codes:
- Error 1 – LED flashes 1x // Battery error, the power supply to the refrigerator is insufficient. This will be by far the most common mistake.
- Error 2 – LED flashes 2x // Fan error
- Error 3 – LED flashes 3x // Compressor error
- Error 4 – LED flashes 4x // Compressor speed error
- Error 5 – LED flashes 5x // ECU overheats (control unit), this can happen at extremely high outside temperatures.
- Error 6 – LED flashes 6x // NTC error (temperature sensor error)
- Error 7 – LED flashes 7x // Communication error control unit
