One year Grand California with full air suspension – review, now it’s your turn! 👊

Since we originally come from the tuning scene, it’s obvious that we celebrate it hard when we can just put Cali on the side of the road! 😎
What did a friend say the other day: It’s lower than grandma! 😅🤐🤭

But seriously:

With the suspension, we have significantly upgraded our Cali in terms of both driving and camping behavior.
It becomes particularly clear when driving in convoys, when people from behind say: “I couldn’t keep up in the bend, how do you do that?”
Or on bumpy gravel roads: The suspension absorbs the potholes and bumps and Cali doesn’t bounce so much…
Well, I don’t drive, but I wouldn’t want to be without it either! No matter where we are -okay, almost no matter-, one push of a button and Cali automatically aligns itself and stands up straight. With the chassis, arriving at sleeping areas is even more fun, because we don’t have to look at how we are best positioned, we look at how we are best positioned!

The way to the standard chassis:

Yes, it wasn’t easy being a beta tester! But nobody said it would be easy… 😅 We made a conscious decision to test!
Well, some of you may have noticed that Cali now finds her way to Höchst in the Odenwald on her own 🙈

For example, it really got on our nerves when we had to turn around just before Poland and drove the almost 600 kilometers to Höchst with a faulty pressure sensor and a constantly beeping warning buzzer 🙈 but that also got sorted out and was fixed ☺️👍

What has changed?

The pre-production shock absorbers were replaced because the old ones rubbed at full steering lock and bottomed out on large bumps. Nothing has happened since the conversion. 😊👍

The prototypes of the brackets to which the height sensors are attached were made from ASA using a 3D printer; these are now made from stainless steel. 👍

The air generation kit has been relocated and no longer lives on a bracket but in a box. This offers protection from dirt, splash water and swirling stones.
In addition – so the theory goes – the compressor should protect the components in the box from freezing with its waste heat, or thaw frozen lines quickly so that the chassis can also be adjusted easily in winter. 👍

What’s next?

There is currently one thing that is still open, the bracket to which all components of the chassis are attached under the vehicle needs a quality update and will be replaced once the revision of the process is complete. 👍

The software:

Here, too, there was the occasional bug, but because Streetec develops and programs the software itself, this could always be fixed relatively quickly. 👍
And we can’t get bored here either: of course we didn’t miss out on beta testing here either 😅 and it’s completely normal for things to go a bit awry from time to time 😉

So you see, you benefit from our experience 😬 and now you can save money to boot! 😎

The full air suspension from Streetec is ready for the masses!
That’s why there’s now a discount for you! 🥳
Use the code ‘GRANDCALI10’ to get ten percent off the suspension. The promotion runs until the end of October.

Do you like our new Schmitt 18HDX rims with Loder AT tires? We do too! 🤩
And because we’ve never seen them on a camper or a Cali before and they just look 🐽 awesome, Streetec has extended the ten percent discount on the wheel/tire combo! 🥳
