Isn’t it crazy how quickly time flies? It feels like the year 2024 has only just begun, and yet today is already December 19. That means we’re just before Christmas, New Year’s Eve and a new year – 2025.
The past 12 months have been incredibly eventful. We were able to meet many great people and experience numerous wonderful adventures. Whether it was the midnight sun in Sweden or a fantastic time with friends in Italy and Switzerland – we are very grateful for everything we were able to experience and achieve.
This year, we counted more than 720,000 visitors to our website. Data amounting to around 6,036 GB was retrieved and we generated over 2.5 million Google impressions. All we can say is: WAHNSINN!
In February, we founded our WhatsApp community, which now has around 700 members exchanging information every day.
Two really great driver training sessions and various meetings are now behind us.
We launched our online store in July out of necessity. We were looking for a way to continue financing our project – and we succeeded with the store. With almost 900 orders, 722 customers have made a significant contribution to keeping GrandCali.com going. Many thanks for that!
In the meantime, our passion for a vehicle has not only turned into a community, but also a part-time job. Silvie and I answer messages, process orders, write articles and test conversions until late in the evening every day. Sometimes it’s really exhausting, but your kind messages and feedback more than make up for it. This motivates us enormously to keep going full throttle next year!
In 2024, we remained true to ourselves and only presented products on our blog that we ourselves are convinced of. Even if envy arose in some places, one thing remains certain: we write and say what we think – and not what a company wants.
2025 will hopefully be another great year – perhaps with a few fewer personal challenges than we had this year.
Our first personal highlight will definitely be the Grand California meeting in May: 100 Grand Californias in Lüneburg – simply crazy! An acquaintance said to me a few days ago: “It’s amazing what a community you’ve built up there.” When I asked what he meant by that, he explained that he travels a lot in the motorhome sector for work, but has never seen a community like ours at any other manufacturer – not at Hymer, Pössl and Co. Of course there are forums or Facebook groups, but the GrandCali.com community is probably unique.
We launched this website two and a half years ago. We would never have dreamed that it would become so big.
We have many exciting projects planned for 2025, including a GrandCali Northern Lights Tour. Whether it will work out in the end remains to be seen – of course, it also depends on the response.
