Where does the name come from?
1. chaos in Philadelphia: In the 1960s, Philadelphia police first used the term “Black Friday” to describe the madness on the streets caused by crowds of people and traffic chaos.
2From loss to profit: the term later took on a new meaning. Retailers were delighted that they were finally “in the black” on Black Friday – in other words, making a profit.

Black Friday has only been a big thing here since around 2010. Initially mainly known among technology stores, almost all sectors are now jumping on the bandwagon. Whether furniture, fashion or even travel – there are discounts everywhere.
